Beany's GST preparation and filing process
At the start of the month your GST return is due, you'll get an email from us about reconciling and confirming this within your Beany dashboard.
- Ensure your accounting software (e.g. Xero/MYOB) is all reconciled up until the last date of the GST period.
- Once you've done this, log into your Beany account and click "I've reconciled this" on your dashboard. This notifies us that we can begin preparing your GST return.
Once we've processed your GST return (usually within 3 working days), we’ll email to let you know it's ready for review in Beany. If everything looks good, click "approve" and we’ll file it with the IRD.
Paying your GST
If you owe GST, you'll need to make a payment to the IRD via internet banking.
Our software checks your myIR account to ensure what we've filed matches what the IRD says you owe. We’ll send a reminder a few days before payment is due if it hasn't been made.
Spam
Occasionally, overly strict spam filters may catch our emails. If you haven't received our reminders, please check your spam folder to avoid missing important updates.
